Intimate Family-Centered Elopement

This intimate family-centered elopement in Summit County came with a sweet puppy and a private chef. Mackenzie and Tyler wanted to get married with 12 of their closest family and friends so they got an AirBNB together in Keystone and said their vows at Sapphire Point while overlooking Dillon Reservoir.

Large breathtaking mountains created a stunning backdrop for this elopement in Summit County, Colorado. Summit county, as it’s name implies is full of big mountains including the 10 mile range that includes, Arapahoe Basin, Breckinridge, Copper Mountain, and Keystone. The mountains are within a 30 minute drive of each other, exploring multiple areas is so easy. Dillon Reservoir sits right in the middle of these adventurous mountains. Sapphire Point overlook, a popular elopement location, is located on Swan mountain with a spectacular view of the reservoir.

These two had been together 4 years when they contacted me. They told me they had been putting off wedding planning and they were looking for alternatives to a big traditional wedding. Then they stumbled upon adventure style elopements and got super excited about the idea of eloping with your best people in a breathtaking location.

While chatting about locations and time of year, they decided late July would work best for them. When they saw pictures from one of my past elopements at Sapphire Point, they fell in love with the area and knew this was location was going to be perfect.

They had the sweetest first look at their AirBNB in Keystone then we drove up to Sapphire Point for their beautiful ceremony. The blue sky and warm sunshine provided the perfect contrast to the towering mountain backdrop. As the family gathered before the ceremony, we all took a moment to take in the spectacular views and the cute chipmunks running around . McKenzie and Tyler said their vows in the shade of an evergreen tree with their families and baby pup as witnesses.

After the “I do’s” we went exploring around the lake for some fun & adventurous photos before meeting back up in Keystone where they had hired a private chef to make dinner. Everything about this day was intentional which created some of the most precious memories for this incredible couple and their families. These two and their families welcomed us into their lives like we’d known each other for years. We were honored to be the ones to capture these life long memories.
